The documents below explain the required steps to complete the application process. While the process has several steps many of the requirements can be done simultaneously. Best practice is to apply online for a new license.

Applications are reviewed by Board staff as soon as possible, in the order received, typically within 5 business days.
- Refer to the Application Guidelines above to determine what steps you can complete while awaiting review.
- Once your application is reviewed, you will receive an email with an attached letter indicating what additional information is required to approve the license.

The following links are being provided because each of these testing services offers tests that are required for licensure. An applicant for licensure must pass an examination approved by the board and then have the testing service send the test results directly to the board prior to being licensed.
A temporary license holder shall practice interpreting through the end of the then-current biennial license period. A temporary license holder may renew a temporary once, for the immediately following biennial license period.
